Homeschool Connection

Skokie Library, Children's Program Room

A panel of homeschoolers will talk about their homeschooling experiences and share resources they find helpful. The panel will introduce homeschooling topics for children of different ages, the various styles of homeschooling, and the various reasons to choose to homeschool. There will be information about EHE and Illinois HOUSE, as well Illinois homeschooling laws and library resources.

Beach day

Boy Scout troop

Small local Boy Scout troop. Great troop, great outdoorsmanship. Boys start around age 11 and continue to age 18. Troop meets Monday nights at 7:00 pm at Northminster Presbyterian Church (Central Park and Grant).

Family Homeschool Cooperative Summer Camp

Tuesdays, 10:30 am, June 3 - August 26

Planning meeting May 20, 11 am, at Amy J.'s home

Co-op of families getting together once a week to do fun activities organized by families in the group. This summer is "festival of cultures." Each family takes a turn hosting/planning activities. Ideal for ages 10 and under.

Monarch butterfly consultants

Interested in hatching monarch butterflies? Don't have the foggiest idea how to go about it? Barbara J. and Jennifer P. would be more than happy to help out any EHEers interested in doing this.

Mother/Daughter Book Club summer sessions

Park day

Every Friday at 2:00 at Robert Crown Park (parking lot entrance at Main St. and Florence Ave. or park on Lee St. - see map). We will meet near the playground.

This is not a drop-off time but a time for families to gather and play together. There is a playground for the younger kids and bathrooms are located in Robert Crown. Bring your bats, gloves, baseballs, footballs, soccer balls and Frisbees.

Tentatively Fridays, 1-4ish

Play/social time for younger kids. Rotating locations to be agreed upon by participants.
